The Autonomous Region performs both classic standards and modern arrangements of jazz favorites. Led by vocalist Caroline Cabading, this tradition-rooted ensemble also presents original compositions that fuse jazz with kulintang, a pre-colonial music of the Philippines.

United States of Asian America Festival

Autonomous will be premiering an excerpt of its new suite of original compositions, "Sugilanon" as part of the United States of Asian America Festival taking place at San Francisco's Japantown Peace Plaza. Our set starts at 12Noon but this will be a wonderful festival of performance artists that will continue to present until 4pm. Please stay for the whole showing if you can. Autonomous will be activating San Francisco's Chinatown as part of an afternoon and evening offering visual, media and performing artists. We will be launching the day's activities with an outdoor 3-4pm jazz set on the 800 block of Grant Avenue and then coming back to help round out the day's events with a 7-8pm set.
